日々の生活の中から常に平和を考えてきた伝統ある雑誌に作品を掲載して頂き、大変有り難く光栄に感じると同時に、こうしている間も紛争の最中にある人々を思うと、心のざわつきを抑えられずにいます。

I have an announcement.

Three of my works from “Tiny Flowers” were featured in the “Peace” special issue of Fujin no Tomo magazine's August edition.
“Fujin no Tomo" is a women's magazine with the longest history in Japan, first published in 1908. It is based on Christian ideology and supported by Jiyu Gakuen and Tomonokai, a nationwide organization of readers.
I feel very honored to have my work published in a magazine that has always pondered peace from everyday life.
At the same time, when I think about the people caught in the midst of war even while we are here, I cannot suppress the restlessness in my heart.

The other day, I attended an event organized by the Japan Gastronomy Association to enjoy Ukrainian cuisine. The Ukrainian dishes prepared by Ukrainian chefs and Ambassador Korsunsky were incredibly delicious, and I truly realized that Ukrainian cuisine extends beyond the famous red borscht soup.
There was a chef with a disability who had come to Japan, as I learned, to support their fmily living in Ukraine by sending money back home. Ambassador Korsunsky, with a constant smile, personally cooked and served wine throughoutthe event.
I was captivated by the beautiful hand-embroidered blouse worn by Yuliya, a second secretary who kindly served as our interpreter. When I had a chance to chat with her, I discovered that the family of the blouse's creator had been injured in a bombing, which reminded me of the harsh realities of life.
Though I may not be able to do much, I believe that contemplating and reflecting on these matters are within my reach. I can't help but hope for a day when everyone can sit around the same table, sharing happiness while indulging in delicious cuisine.
